Reflect, 2015
This work began as an exploration of duality, originally envisioned as a larger piece with a mirrored upper half. As the process unfolded, my focus shifted to the tension beneath the screen—the constant strain on the delicate fabric transforming a refined weaving into a distorted structure, visible only through a white veil. The materials were intentionally chosen to reflect ideas of preservation and conscious awareness. While I first imagined the piece as a diptych of opposing forces, the singular “reflecting pool” of quiet tranquillity revealed itself as the more compelling resolution.
